Pathology for Massage Therapists

Description: This course covers common medical conditions and diseases that massage therapists may encounter. Students learn how to safely modify treatments and when to refer the client to their doctor or other healthcare professional.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify major pathologies within the massage therapy scope of practice

• Perform strategic assessments to determine treatment contraindications

• Collaborate effectively with Physical and Occupational Therapists as well as Athletic Trainers

• Develop safe treatment modifications for chronic and acute conditions
